Crude Distillation Unit Operating Procedures Preparation

Crude Distillation Unit Operating Procedures Preparation

The client, a modular design, fabrication, and construction company based in Canada, contracted Process Engineering International (PROCESS) to prepare draft startup and shutdown procedures for a new Crude Topping Unit to be installed in Canada.

More specifically, PROCESS reviewed the following information that was provided by the client:

  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Process Description

  • Control Narratives

  • Cause and Effect Diagrams

  • Safeguarding Narratives

  • Alarm and Trip Settings

  • Safety Reports.

From this information and its knowledge of, and experience with process operations, PROCESS prepared and submitted to the client the draft startup procedures and controlled shutdown procedures.
